We are Maple Valley Acres!
We’re first-generation farmers & proud of it.
As a husband-and-wife team, our roots run deep in the farming way of life. Both of us were raised with dirt under our nails and purpose in our hearts, thanks to our early days in local 4-H clubs. What began as childhood curiosity blossomed into a lifelong passion. That passion—along with a healthy dose of teamwork grew into what we now call Maple Valley Acres.
Today, we’re more than just farmers. We're builders of a diverse, ever-evolving business that allows us to share the beauty and importance of agriculture with the community we love.

Both my kids love going out to get the full farm experience and just help around the property. The owners are amazing people and truly care about their business. They provide a great atmosphere to allow kids to excel in something they love. Even if it’s their first time and they are just testing the waters. Their events are also very good for the community as well. People come from all over to attend. It truly is a great place to attend and be a part of.

Meet the faces behind Maple Valley Acres
Karoline Shaw
Barn Manager, Riding Instructor, & Horse Trainer
Hi there! I’m Karoline, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to our farm. My journey in agriculture began early through 4-H and FFA, including serving a term as Pennsylvania’s 4-H president. With a lifetime of horse experience, I went on to earn my degree in Equine Science from Penn State, where I participated in equine judging and a colt-starting program.
Teaching and encouraging riders is one of my greatest joys. I love creating a supportive environment where both horse and rider can grow, build confidence, and reach their full potential.
When I’m not in the saddle or calling out instructions from the arena, you’ll find me helping Tyler around the farm or enjoying time with our little girl. Together, we’re building a place rooted in hard work, learning, and community, and I’m so excited to share it with you!
Tyler Shaw
Farmer, Hay and Straw Sales Manager, & Mechanic
Welcome! I’m Tyler, and farming has been a passion of mine from an early age. Through hands-on experience with my local 4-H club, I started my farming career at just 15, asking neighbors if I could grow hay in their vacant fields. I still farm some of those original fields today, but have since grown the operation as a first-generation landowner.
When I’m not in the fields or driving down the road in a tractor, I’m usually fixing equipment, tackling a new farm project, chatting with visitors at the barn, or cheering on MVA riders at horse shows. Most recently, I’ve also been enjoying my newest role as Dad.
Together with Karoline, we’re building a life and farm centered around hard work, creativity, and community—and I’m excited to share it with you.
